Dr. Meg Walch is a Tasmanian artist and educator (based in Lutruwita), Tasmania. Meg has thirty years of experience as a professional visual artist both in Australia and internationally. Meg is a creator who is constantly learning and exploring new territory in her art practice and then generously sharing what she has learned. She exploits the extreme plastic conditions of painterly mediums to explore the plasticity of thought and form. The fluid, viscous and plastic properties of paint have sustained her long term relationship with this medium. She mixes abstraction and figuration, drawing on pictorial traditions from Europe and South East Asia. Her work and research interests have evolved through residencies in Europe, the United States of America, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Tokyo and Tasmania.
Meg’s activities include exhibiting, teaching, public speaking and consulting.
